Two police officers based at Plumstead police station have been charged with theft.

PC Kenneth Potter, 29, is charged with one count of theft from the Metropolitan Police Service and one count of receiving stolen goods, while PC Ian Scouler, 45, is charged with one count of theft from the MPS.

Yesterday’s charges follow a pro-active investigation by the Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS).

Both are currently suspended and are bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 6.

The charges relate to searches where it is alleged MPS property was stolen.
