The 16-year-old is a young ambassador for the charity FILMCLUB and attended the premiere of Fast Girls in Leicester Square.

She goes to Townley Grammar School in Townley Road, Bexleyheath and is currently sitting her GCSEs.

Tara said: “It was my second interview so I was still a little nervous. But they were so friendly and I think the interviews went really well.

“I have done a few assignments for FILMCLUB now and I really enjoy doing them and learning more about the film industry.”

The youngster quizzed director BAFTA-winning actor and screenwriter Noel Clarke, actress Lenora Crichlow and director Regan Hall at the event earlier this month.

Mr Clarke told Tara: “It’s important for young people to engage with film. People should watch the end credits of films because you’ll see hundreds of names and so many people work on films.

“There are so many jobs out there in the industry - you don’t have to be ‘the actor’, there are so many jobs which are equally as important and it’s crucial in the education of people with films that they learn that.”

Fast Girls, which hit cinema screens last Friday (15), gets into the Olympic spirit by tracking a female British sprint team as they try and qualify for a major athletics championships while battling turmoil in their personal lives.

Tara said: “The premiere was a bit wet and cold - but with the Olympics coming up and the sporty theme, they had a track instead of a red-carpet which was really cool so the weather didn’t dampen the patriotic spirit.”

FILMCLUB is a free schools organisation providing young people with access to thousands of films to watch, review and discuss. It started in 2007 and now holds 7,000 clubs in schools across England and Wales.
