The Camden nightclub officially opens Proud2 at former superclub Matter on March 3 with The Mystery jets. The first Bacchus night on March 5 will see Sneaky Sound System, Her Majesty and The Wolves and Scott Mills take to the stage and DJ booth.

Other names scheduled to appear are Bloc Party, Paloma Faith, Mr Hudson, Freestylers, Futureheads, Jazzy Jeff and the Bombay Bicycle Club.

Proud is currently refurbishing the North Greenwich club to transform it from its industrial roots to a glam and decadent venue. It will host circus-themed nights at Saturday’s weekly Bacchus party with the help of The Generating Company.

The productions will include fire breathers, trapeze artists, aerialists and performance art. Dressing up at Bacchus is compulsory - those costumed in the most outrageous attire will be ‘kidnapped’ to party with the decorative party peacocks in Room two.

Matter shut in May last year blaming the weekend closures of the Jubilee Line.
