The Counterfeit Stones will perform at Floridita as part of the celebrations to mark 50 years since the Rolling Stones' first ever gig at the Marquee Club in London

Soho is going back to the swinging 60s next week to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones’ first ever gig.

The Stones played their inaugural gig at the famous Marquee Club in 1962 when the venue was still based in Oxford Street.

Later the Marquee moved to Soho’s Wardour Street, where restaurant and entertainment venue Floridita now stands.

To celebrate a half-century since the Stones started out Floridita is putting on an evening of fun, frolics and retro entertainment.

The night of dining, music and dancing on July 12 will feature The Counterfeit Stones who provide an amusing take on the real Stones with characters such as Nick Dagger, Keef Rickard and Charlie Mott.

Even Sir Mick Jagger has described them as “The most famous Stones band in England.”

A dining ticket which will include a three-course meal as well as entry is priced at £62 per person and guests are invited to dine between 6.30pm and 8pm.

Bar tickets are also available without food for £20 per person and doors will open from 6.30pm.
