Turner Contemporary has launched a special edition designed exclusively by Michael Craig-Martin in celebration of the gallery’s only permanent artwork.
The neon work Turning Pages is a recreation of the artist’s first ever public commission for Margate Library in 1975 and was installed in the Sunley Gallery for Turner Contemporary’s opening in 2011.
Victoria Pomery OBE, Director of Turner Contemporary says: “I’m delighted that Michael has produced this striking new print based on his iconic neon sculpture commission for Margate library in 1975. Like libraries, galleries are inspiring places in whichto learn and think. By buying this print, you will be supporting the work of
Turner Contemporary and enabling more people to enjoy art.”
Clive Stevens, Chair of Turner Contemporary says: “We’re thrilled and very grateful that Michael Craig-Martin has generously created this beautiful edition for Turner Contemporary. In our current climate, a fresh approach to philanthropy and giving will become essential as we continue with our work. Each of the individuals that purchase a print will have made an impactful contribution to our ambitious exhibition and learning programmes here in Margate.”
All proceeds from sales of this print will support furtehr exhibitions and learning programmes.
