As winter takes hold families visiting the Home of Charles Darwin, Down House near Orpington this winter will be able to try their hand at some festive crafts.
English Heritage is hosting A Natural Christmas: Decoration Making workshops on both November 26 and 27.
Visitors (over 12) will join one of the gardeners at Down House as they weave their magic and create seasonal items for their home using foliage found in the garden, from winter stems, to holly and pine cones.
For younger visitors there will be plenty to do; Down House’s popular family trail will be available, allowing them to explore the property’s stunning gardens as they learn more about how Charles Darwin used them in his experiments.
Cate Milton, events manager at English Heritage, said: “Families can work together to create stunning natural decorations which they can use to either decorate their home this festive season, or gift to friends and family members.”
The A Natural Christmas: Decoration Making workshops run on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November, with workshops taking place at 11am, 12noon, 2pm & 3pm on both days.
