Ms Powell is the winner of a gold medal at the Chelsea Garden Show

Award-winning garden designer and TV presenter Ann-Marie Powell visited Homebase in Orpington for a live garden demonstration.

The lesson, on April 28, was part of a nation-wide initiative by Homebase, which aims to get people gardening as and when they have free time, while also achieving their ‘garden goals’.

Ms Powell is the winner of gold medals at both the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the Hampton Court Flower Show. She now presents the Chelsea Garden Show on BBC One, while appearing on other shows such as Real gardens, Lost Gardens, and as the gardening expert on ITV’s This Morning. She presented The Great Chelsea Garden Challenge on BBC Two and The Great Garden Challenge on Channel Four.

Ms Powell shared her expertise, tips and advice and showed customers how to achieve their dream garden through a series of demonstrations including planting an edible garden, creating a wildlife garden and choosing the best plants for instant colour.
