Hordes of screaming fans camped overnight in a supermarket car park to meet Peter Andre at the signing of his new single.

The star dazzled loyal fans who turned out in full force on Friday (29) for the signing at Asda, Graham Road, Bexleyheath.

The pop star was promoting his new single Defender taken from his seventh album Accelerate due to be released on November 1.

Andre, who appeared delighted with the turnout said: “It’s just amazing being here. I know I say this a lot but really, the support is out of this world.

“Walking past all the fans in the queue felt like the X Factor. It means a lot to me that all these people are here today.

“I can’t wait to see what the fans think of the album.”

His new album sees collaborations with British artist and producer Taio Cruz amongst others and marks a crossover to a more urban musical style.

Among the thousand strong crowd, dedicated fan, beauty therapist, Charly-Anne Wales, 19, of Coptefield Drive, Belvedere said: “I’ve been here since 3.30 in the morning.

“This is the first time I’ve seen him. I used to be a Katie Price fan then I turned. He’s even better in real life then on television. He takes time to talk to his fans.

“I think he’s a great dad and a good singer and I really like his new single, it’s upbeat and fresh but Mysterious Girl is a classic.”

Katie-Jane Arthurs, 15, of Palmar Crescent, Bexleyheath who also arrived in the early hours of the morning said: “I haven’t slept all night. I’m going to tell him that I love him and I’m going to marry him he just doesn’t know it yet.”

The first fan to meet her idol was heavily pregnant Claire Spalding, 30 of Shooters Hill. She said: “It was amazing. Last time I met him was 15 years ago.

“I can’t believe he kissed me and touched my bump.”

The album, Accelerate is out now and Andre begins his tour on November 29.
