The programme for this year’s Rob Knox Film Festival in Sidcup and Bexleyheath has been announced.

It will get underway on May 29 at the New Generation Centre, Birkbeck Road, Sidcup and comes to a close with an awards evening at Cineworld in Bexleyheath.

The festival, now in its fourth year, was set up to honour Harry Potter actor Rob Knox, who was murdered in Sidcup in 2008, aged 18.

Festival director Michael Wearing said: “We’ve got a great festival lined up this year and it’s going to be really exciting.”

There will be a range of masterclasses and screenings at Townley Grammar School in Bexleyheath on May 30 and 31, on June 1 at the Sidcup Pop-Up Cinema on Main Road and at Robert Hall’s Chirst Church on Bexleyheath Broadway.

A judging panel has already been chosen, including former Welling schoolboy turned Hollywood writer and producer Ben Trebilcook, who has credits including Mission Impossible 3 and Die Hard 4.

Mr Wearing said: “We are really grateful to all the judges who have given up their time to watch the films.

“The standard this year is really high, making their task even harder than it has been in previous years.

The festival is run by volunteers and is supported by businesses such as Cineworld, Nando’s, Marriott Hotel and Diviniti Publishing.
