Radio Four comedian Susan Calman is back on tour and heading for Margate and Tunbridge Wells.

The Calman Before The Storm see Susan talk about her radio job, as well as the time she spends on CBBC though she claims her four-year-old niece is the “most terrifying human being” she can imagine. She’ll also challenge assumptions about her political stance, her height, her nationality and her sexuality.

Having worked on Death Row and at the United Nations in Geneva as a former corporate lawyer, Susan decided to give up her promising career to become a comedian in 2006 when she reached the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy and So You Think You’re Funny Awards.

In 2007 she was party of the sell-out Fringe show Ugly Kid which went on to become Channel Four’s Blowout and whose cast was awarded a Scottish BAFTA that same year.

Her numous radio credits include The News Quiz, The Unbelievavle Truth, Now Show, Dilemma and she has presented Woman’s Hour, all for Radio Four. She’s also hosted Listomania for Radio Two. She recently recorded a second series of her sitcom Sister for Radio Four and has recently started work on her fourth solo radio series for the station.

She’s also appeared on TV in How Not to Live Your Life, Dead Boss and Fresh Meat. As well as Have I Got News For You, QI, 8 Our of 10 Cats, and Mock The Week.

She will be at Margate’s Theatre Royal on June 23, and Tunbridge Wells’ Trinity Theatre on June 3 (this show has now sold out).
