Dartford’s Orchard Theatre revs up April with series of new shows

This April the Orchard Theatre, Dartford has a wide variety of shows on offer to captivate audiences of all ages including The Sooty Show, Dick & Dom Live! and Made In Dagenham.
The Sooty Show is coming direct from CITV. After meeting in Las Vegas with legendary magician David Copperfield, Sooty, Sweep and Soo head to town accompanied by TV’s Richard Cadell and special guest stars Butch and Ramsbottom on April 16.
On April 17 the legends of Children’s TV, Dick and Dom are about to be unleashed. The show promises to get the whole family on their feet, the live performance will be full of madcap challenges and audience games.
Direct from a hit run in London’s West End, a band of illusionists and magicians take to the road for the fourth year running to once again perplex, astound and thrill audiences.. On April 18 illusionists Young and Strange (ITV’s The Next Great Magician), master mind reader Alex McAleer, award-winning queen of close-up Fay Presto, and International Stage Magician of the Year Edward Hilsum will be performing feats of mind-reading, stunning close-up, daring large-scale illusions and a death-defying, heart stopping finale.
Comedian Lee Hurst, is back with an all-new show. Having earned his stripes over twenty years ago as a circuit comic, Lee was quickly promoted to being a regular face on comedy panel shows including They Think It’s All Over and Have I Got News For You, which is how he became
a household name. Lee will be at the theatre on April 20.
Dartford residents will feel that Essex has moved just that bit closer when a recent West End show is brought to the theatre from Wednesday April 28-29. Dartford Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (DAODS) is revving up rehearsals for its upcoming production of the British musical Made in Dagenham, which was nominated for several Laurence Olivier Awards. The group is one of the first in the south east to secure the rights for the newly released show, and the cast of more than 50 local performers have been working hard since October.
