Petition will be presented to MP after the election

Thousands of people have signed a petition calling for the reinstatement of the A&E and maternity departments at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup.

More than 4,000 people have so far signed the petition asking that the services be brought back, which was started by members of the National Health Action Party.

Welling GP Dr Bob Gill, who is standing for the party in the constituency in the general election, said the group had started the petition as they had found people in the area felt very strongly about the issue.

The group met with Mr Brokenshire to discuss other issues affecting the NHS in the area, but will hand the petition over after the election – you can still sign it wherever you see them campaigning.
