More than 900 residents turned out to picnic with their neighbours.

The two events in Birchmere Park, Thamesmead, organised by community charity Trust Thamesmead and housing association Gallions’ residents group, included free ice cream, story-telling, arts and crafts and a school choir.

Others organisations were also on hand to tell residents on August 24 and 11, what they had on offer, including the Scout Association’s Thamesmead branch, Thamesmead Food Bank, IMPACT Youth, CADZ Productions, Thamesmead School of Dance and outreach workers from Greenwich Children’s Centre.
