A SCHOOLGIRL survived being hit by a car as she crossed the road after school.

A SCHOOLGIRL survived being hit by a car as she crossed the road after school. The 14-year-old pupil at Townley Grammar School was knocked down next to a bus stop in Townley Road, Bexleyheath, at 3.50pm last Wednesday.

The teenager was conscious as an ambulance took her to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, to be treated for a blow to the head.

Police interviewed the driver of the car and took no further action.
