Margaret Hitchcock won the £250,000 prize
A grandmother who won the top prize on a National Lottery scratchcard will now be spending big this Christmas.
Margaret Hitchcock, 56, from McLeod Road, Abbey Wood, will be sharing the £250,000 prize amongst her family.
Mrs Hitchock said: “I started to feel a bit Christmassy and decided to try my luck on a scratchard.
“If I’m honest I wasn’t really paying attention until I played the final box, the 24th, and revealed a £250,000 prize.
“That certainly got my attention, but I was absolutely sure that it must be a mistake, this sort of thing just doesn’t happen to me.”
The grandmother of 17 picked up the prize at Townsend News on Green’s End in Woolwich.
