Post-mortem has been carried out

A young man who died in Abbey Wood on Saturday suffered a mortal stab wound, a post-mortem examination has found.

Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of the 26-year-old, who was one of three men stabbed after a mass fight broke out in Felixstowe Road just after 5am.

The man was taken to an east London hospital, but died from his injuries. A 24-year-old and another 26-year-old were also taken to hospital but have been discharged.

Police believe the three were stabbed outside a party taking place in a warehouse on the Lyndean industrial estate, off Felixstowe Road.

Officers have not released the name of the man, although his body has now been formally identified. The post-mortem examination, held at Greenwich Mortuary on Sunday, gave the cause of death as a single stab wound.
