Post-mortem has been carried out

A young man who died in Abbey Wood on Saturday suffered a mortal stab wound, a post-mortem examination has found.

Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of the 26-year-old, who was one of three men stabbed after a mass fight broke out in Felixstowe Road just after 5am.

The man was taken to an east London hospital, but died from his injuries. A 24-year-old and another 26-year-old were also taken to hospital but have been discharged.

Police believe the three were stabbed outside a party taking place in a warehouse on the Lyndean industrial estate, off Felixstowe Road.

Officers have not released the name of the man, although his body has now been formally identified. The post-mortem examination, held at Greenwich Mortuary on Sunday, gave the cause of death as a single stab wound.

Police have not made any arrests and are still appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact them on 101, or Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org.
