Accused faces child assault charges

A MAN who stayed on the roof of his house for 33 hours when he was due to face charges of indecent assault against a child has appeared in court.

A MAN who stayed on the roof of his house for 33 hours when he was due to face charges of indecent assault against a child has appeared in court.

Clifford Maughn-Taylor, 44, of Wansunt Road, Bexley, appeared at Blackfriars Crown Court last Wednesday to face three charges of indecent assault against a child. He did not enter a plea.

On June 10 he was arrested after spending more than a day on the roof of his house when police went to arrest him for not attending court.

He has not been charged with any further offence since the incident.

The accused will remain in custody, with his trial due to begin on November 10.
