An amateur photographer from Bexleyheath has been named one of the winners in a competition run by Amateur Photographer magazine.

Matthew Wignall’s images of the London Eye and the City of London were among 80 winning entries in the competition, for which people were asked to photograph city life.

The winning images, which were chosen from more than 500 entries, will be on show this week on digital billboards nationwide. As well as the country’s major train stations, they will be displayed at a number of shopping centres, including Bluewater.

Amateur Photographer editor Nigel Atherton said: “This has given our readers a unique chance to see their work and their name made famous on big screens nationwide.”
