A DOG was left tied to a tree and a cat was abandoned in a carrier last month.

The male terrier dog was found in woodland in Old Road, Crayford, off London Road, on June 12 at around 7pm by a person out walking their dog.

The dog had a collar on with a bandana attached to it.A tom cat was later found abandoned on June 23 in a blue cat carrier on Eynsford Road in Greenhithe opposite the shops. A passer-by who picked him up said he had been there for at least an hour.

RSPCA's Vikki Dawe said: "It is an offence to abandon animals." The cat is unneutered and very affectionate. He was wearing a purple collar. Contact the RSPCA confidentially on 03001234999.

The animals will now be found new homes.
