Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision involving two cars in Belvedere.

Police were called at approximately 8.30pm on Tuesday, March 13, to reports of a collision at the junction of Picardy Manorway and Anderson Way, which resulted in a Mercedes coming to a halt on the roundabout.

A second dark coloured car, believed to be an Audi, failed to stop at the scene.

Officers, the London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service attended, and the driver of the Mercedes - a man, believed to be in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are in the process of notifying next of kin and formal identification awaits.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detectives from Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating, and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw a car leaving the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the witness appeal line on 020 8285 1574.
