Arson attack leaves man in hospital

A MAN was taken to hospital after arsonists torched his front door.

A MAN was taken to hospital after arsonists torched his front door.

The man was rescued from a sixth floor flat in John Wilson Street, Woolwich, by firefighters at about 3am on Tuesday morning(20).

London ambulance staff treated the man at the scene for smoke inhalation before taking him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Woolwich.

He has since been discharged.

A spokesperson for the police said: "The crime scene is still open, and Greenwich CID is investigating the incident.
