ROALD Dahl illustrator Quentin Blake is set to open a new amphitheatre at a school which scooped a £9,900 Lottery grant.

ROALD Dahl illustrator Quentin Blake is set to open a new amphitheatre at a school which scooped a £9,900 Lottery grant.

The communal amphitheatre is set to open in the autumn at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School, in Hurst Road, Sidcup, and will be used by the community as well as pupils.

Another Lottery grant was awarded to the 2nd Barnehurst Rainbow Guides, from St Martin's Church, Erith, for £7,700. To celebrate the centenary of guiding, the group will hold a Thames boat party in February next year for guides aged five to seven.
