AN axe-wielding teenager has been arrested after armed police burst into a house and cordoned off a high street.

AN axe-wielding teenager has been arrested after armed police burst into a house and cordoned off a high street.

Police were called to St Johns Road, Sidcup on Tuesday at about 11.30am to reports of a man wielding an axe. They found him in a nearby house, forced entry and arrested him. At the time of going to press, he was still in police custody, without being charged.

He was arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of an offensive weapon, common assault and on warrant for taking and driving away.
