AN ANIMAL-lover is baking her way towards a 50km hike across the Romanian mountains to raise money for a bear sanctuary.

AN ANIMAL-lover is baking her way towards a 50km hike across the Romanian mountains to raise money for a bear sanctuary.

Jacqueline Wall, 46, a police communications officer from Bexleyheath, is in training for a hike through Romania's Carpathian Mountains in May to help rescue brown bears from a life of captivity. Miss Wall is raising the £2,200 needed to take part in the trek by selling buns and muffins to her work colleagues.

She said: "Luckily they are gannets! So I have a solid customer base. I look set to raise the full amount of money and waistlines besides!
