Nineteen girls from 1st Barnehurst Rainbows got in touch with their wild side on a trip to London Zoo to celebrate the group’s 25th anniversary.

Rainbow Leader Vicky Storey said: “The girls had a brilliant time, and learned about lots of animals they hadn’t encountered before.”

More than 950 Rainbows from across London and south east England took part in the visit, accompanied by 400 leaders.

Rainbows, the section for the youngest members of guiding, was established in 1987. Girls across the UK are getting involved in events to mark the occasion.
