One of Sidcup’s leading care homes, Baugh House, is calling on local people to join it for its newly launched lunch club.

The club, held at the home in Baugh Road on the last Wednesday of every month, is designed to bring people over the age of 65 together.

For just a small donation, guests will get to enjoy hot meals and an afternoon of activities put on by the home’s experienced care staff.

Starting at 12.30pm and finishing at 3pm, the event gives provides the chance to meet new people and have a break from cooking and washing up.

Sharon Disley, care manager at Baugh House, said: “We know that as people reach their later life they often find that friends move away or are less able to meet up, but it doesn’t mean that they can’t expand their friendship group.

“We hope this event will help people make new connections and give them a break from the usual humdrum of cooking and cleaning.

“We hope to see plenty of new faces at future events.”

Those wishing to attend must make contact with the home one week prior to each month’s event to confirm their attendance, by contacting Kendra Bray on 02086 201 007 or 07769 292420.
