Police carried out the raid after receiving intelligence that crimes were taking place from the property

Police from the Thamesmead Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) seized a black plastic BB shotgun along with what they believe is heroin and five mobile phones in a raid on a Thamesmead property.

A warrant to carry out the early morning raid was obtained after officers received intelligence that a person living at the address was involved in the sale of stolen motorbikes. During the raid, a 17-year-old teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and being a passenger on a stolen motorbike.

Police Constable Chris Molnar, from Thamesmead SNT, said: “We told residents that we would clamp down on criminal activity in the Thamesmead area. This is one of dozens of warrants that have been executed in the area recently. I am pleased with the result and the fact we have taken more drugs off the streets and a BB gun that could have been used in crime.

“Contact us on 020 8721 2049 if you have any information about crime in Thamesmead, alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The warrant was executed at the address in Coralline Walk on August 19.
