Belvedere men on trial accused of murdering Bexleyheath businessman Prabjot Singh Rayat in Thamesmead

The trial of three men accused of a Thamesmead murder gots underway today.
Prabjot Singh Rayat, was found dead in the early hours of June 8 last year.
Robert Burrows, 34, and Surinder Chana, 44, both of Lower Park Road, Belvedere, and Clifford Collins, 40, of Mounts Road, Greenhithe, appeared at Wood Green Crown Court today as the jury was sworn in. Each is charged with one count of murder and conspiracy to rob.
The body of Mr Rayat, who had three children and lived in Bexleyheath, was found at his Rayat Autos business in an industrial estate in Nathan Way.
A post mortem investigation revealed the Pickford Lane resident died of a stab wound.
The trial is expected to last between four and six weeks.
