Bexley police’s borough commander will leave his post in March, less than a year after being appointed.

Ch Supt Victor Olisa became the first black borough commander last April when he became Bexley’s top cop but he will take up the position as Haringay’s borough commander from March 4.

His replacement has not yet been announced but he will be Bexley’s fifth police chief in four years.

The move counts as a promotion as the north London borough has traditionally higher levels of crime than Bexley.
