Popular children’s centres, in Bexley, have received ‘good’ ratings in all aspects from Ofsted.

St Augustine’s Children’s Centre, in Belvedere, and Northumberland Heath Children’s Centre, in Erith, were both inspected last month.

Inspectors observed the day-to-day work of the centres, as well as holding meetings with staff and parents, and looking customer satisfaction surveys.

Parents were found to speak highly of both centres, which Ofsted noted had a strong working relationship with social and health care to work with vulnerable families.

Cllr Katie Perrior, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “This is a fantastic example of children’s centres working well for the community. “They have produced some great results for our children, working innovatively both independently and with partners, to provide invaluable support for local families.”

Bexley Council is currently consulting parents on how the borough’s children’s centre services could be delivered in the future.
