Festive fun in Bexley’s town centres over Small Business Weekend

It’s Small Business Saturday this weekend (December 1 and 2), which presents the perfect opportunity to shop local for Christmas while also enjoying a range of free activities taking place across Bexley’s town centres.

Sidcup is hosting its annual Christmas Extravaganza on Sidcup Green on Saturday December 1 from 12 noon – 6pm.

Two Christmas films are also being shown on a big screen, inside marquees.

Anyone who spends at least £15 in a small business in Sidcup on the day of the extravaganza can bring their receipts to Sidcup Green and be entered into a draw with a top prize of £1,000.

In Erith, the Christmas festivities kick off with the return of the Erith Kitchen this Saturday.

Head down to Pier Road between 11.30am and 6.30pm to sample tasty treats from a variety of street food stalls.

Enjoy some seasonal music from local musicians or take part in some of the family activities.

There will be plenty of cover to keep everyone warm and dry.

The festive fun continues around the town throughout December with a variety of Christmas events planned, including a grotto bar and pop-up cinema at the Old Carnegie Library. Visit to find out more.

In Crayford, the decorations are all up and the annual “Christmas Cracker” will take place on the forecourt of the Crayford Social Club in Crayford Way (opposite Waterside Gardens).

Residents can pop in for a mince pie, glass of wine and to see Father Christmas on Saturday from 1pm to 4pm.

In Welling, Bexley Grammar School Parents’ Association is holding a Christmas Market this Saturday between 11am and 3pm.

At Blackfen Community Library, a special festive event from 12pm on Saturday December 8 will include a free Santa’s Grotto, Christmas characters and Christmas crafts, all culminating with the lights being turned on at 4.30pm.
