Bexley College celebrated the building of its new site by burying a time capsule full of memories.

The college’s new campus in Walnut Tree Road in Erith is due to open at the start of the 2014 academic year after the institution vacates its Tower Road building in Belvedere.

The plan is for the capsule to be opened in 50 years where it will give an insight into the past, including student handbooks, historic prospectuses dating back more than 100 years and

Bexley Council leader Cllr Teresa O’Neill was among the dignitaries to attend the burying on Wednesday.

The new building will provide state of the art facilities which the college says will enhance student success for years to come.
