A college received a positive Ofsted report which praised their "innovative approach" to preparing students for employment.
Following an inspection of all of the curriculum areas, Bexley College was awarded Good (Grade 2) status in the areas of outcome for learners, quality of teaching, learning and assessment and effectiveness of leadership and management.
The positive comments included: “Students develop very good practical skills which equip them well for future employment and their work is of a high standard” with inspectors also highlighting good teaching and learning that is well paced and includes a wide range of activities that meet the needs of students to ensure they make good progress.
The Chair of Governors, Michael Clark, said: “These are exciting times for Bexley and for Bexley College, a ‘good’ College, and a brand new state-of-the-art Campus in the centre of Erith.”
Principal of Bexley College, Danny Ridgeway, said: “I am delighted with the outcome of the report which recognises the efforts of everyone at the College and I would like to thank them for the significant contribution they have made to this fantastic achievement.
“This shows just how much the College has improved and developed over the years and I am particularly pleased that inspectors appreciated just how hard we are working to strengthen the employability skills of our students increasing the number who gain employment in their chosen vocation.
“Having achieved this, the hard work doesn’t end here. We have done great things at the College but our inspection report shows that we do still have more work we can do to make all areas of the College truly outstanding.”
