Bexley Council and businesses agree to scrap parking charges on Thursday for shoppers

PUBLISHED: 09:00 15 December 2013

Thursday is the day to do your shopping in Bexleyheath town centre as parking charges have been scrapped.

An agreement between Bexley Council and the Bexleyheath Improvement District (BID) meant fees are waived for one day to give shoppers a Christmas bonus.

The car parks in Albion Road; at the Cineworld cinema in Broadway, Bexleyheath; at the Civic Office in Broadway; in Oaklands and at Tenpin Bowling in Albion Road, Bexleyheath, are all free.

Cllr Gareth Bacon, the cabinet member for environment and public realm, said: “We want Bexleyheath to be the place to be for Christmas shopping.”
