Bexley Council claimed two awards last week for its work supporting small local businesses.

Present at the Small Business Friendly Borough Awards, Bexley was the only borough from 22 to win two awards.

The council was highly commended in the ‘best small business friendly procurement’ category, and the ‘best programme of campaign to support local trade’ category.

Cllr Colin Campbell, deputy leader of the council, said: “We work hard to champion the interests of local people right across the board and it’s gratifying to receive recognition from the Federation of Small Businesses and London Councils for the work we are doing in this area.”
