Bexly councillor Esther Amaning announced her resignation today.

It has been confirmed that she resigned for personal reasons.

Ms Amaning was elected to represent Lesnes Abbery Ward at the Council elections in May 2014.

She had been acting as Opposition Spokesman for Traffic and Transport.

A by-election will not be called to replace Ms Amaning because elections will take place on Thursday May 3 this year.

Residents in Lesney Abbey Ward will continue to be represented by Cllr Danny Hackett and Cllr John Husband.
