Bexley health bosses aim to save millions of pounds on wasted medicine every year after joining a new campaign.

Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group is one of six nationwide backing the campaign titled Get The Best From Your Medicines.

The campaign aims to cut down on people ordering unnecessary repeat prescriptions and stockpiling medicine.

Chairman Dr Howard Stoate said: “We know from talking to patients that there are many reasons why they don’t take medicine.

“They may have too many different medicines to take, are confused about why they are taking them, forget when to take them, or have a change in routine.”

A number of road shows are being held across the borough to give people the opportunity to talk to experts.

The commissioning group is holding the sessions at Asda in Bexleyheath Broadway next Thursday and Friday (November 22 and 23) and at Morrison’s in Erith on November 27.
