And people from Sutherland Road appear as extras

People in Bexley welcomed movie stars into their homes for a new film shot in the borough – and even feature in the film themselves.

London Road, which stars Tom Hardy, Olivia Colman and Anita Dobson, was shot over three months in Sutherland Road – with many of the houses being used for filming.

And many of Bexley’s finest star as extras in a street party scene.

Formerly a musical at the National Theatre, the film documents the events in Ipswich in 2006, when five prostitutes were murdered.

It opens today, but the people from Bexley who were involved will attend their own private screening on Sunday.
