MP James Brokenshire is set to become the government’s new immigration minister, following the resignation of Mark Harper.

The change in parliament occurred after it emerged Mr Harper’s cleaner did not have permission to work in the UK.

Mr Brokenshire, who represents Old Bexley and Sidcup, had previously been the minister for security.
