Bexley police officers were rewarded for outstanding service in a ceremony last Friday.
Borough commander Ch Supt Victor Olisa hosted the event and Bexley Council Mayor Cllr Alan Downing handed out the certificates at the civic offices in Bexleyheath.
Among those praised were PCs Lee Smith, Stefano Maraia, Paul Quinney and Special PC Alexander Hollis. They were awarded for their quick thinking and team work to ensure an incident, involving a man making threats to kill police officers, was brought to a safe conclusion.
PCs Julie Shaw and Tamsin Brice were recognised for their exceptional professionalism following a murder in Bexleyheath Broadway in October 2011 and for their part in preserving evidence at the crime scene.
Ch Supt Olisa said: “I am immensely proud to be the borough commander for Bexley and to honour the dedication and commitment of the police officers who serve this community.
“These events are a time to reflect on the bravery and professionalism of our colleagues who go beyond the call of duty to drive down crime and improve the safety and quality of life for everyone.”
