A Bexley restaurant helped raise an impressive sum for charity by organising a three course meal and raffle.

Abzar Ali, from Aligor Indian Restaurant, Broadway, Bexleyheath, held the charity night to raise money for Cleft Lip & Palate Association (CLAPA) and Gaza Appeal.

The night was attended by the Mayor of Bexley, Cllr Howard Marriner, and Mayoress Dianne Marriner.

With the aid of staff and friends who helped a total of £1,001 was raised.

Mr Ali hopes to hold more charity events in future to help people in need around the world.
