Cllr Linda Bailey, the council’s cabinet member for regeneration & growth, has welcomed the publication of the final illustrated version of Bexley’s new growth strategy, which is now available on the council’s website.

It was developed over the past two years in partnership with the Greater London Authority and in consultation with local residents, businesses and a wide range of other interested stakeholders.

The Strategy has the support of all three political parties represented on the council.

It sets out a clear vision for the delivery of 31,500 homes and 17,500 jobs by 2050.

The new Growth Strategy is now the primary source for the Council’s high level approach to growth and the related infrastructure requirements.

It will also help to inform future planning documents, such as the local plan.

These include the Mayor of London’s emerging London Plan, which is the subject of a public information event at 10am-12.30pm on Thursday February 1, at the Civic Offices Bexleyheath.
