The album charts were topped by Bexley’s X Factor winner Sam Bailey’s debut, The Power of Love.

Bailey’s album, which is the first number one by an X Factor winner since Alexandra Burke in 2009, includes covers of tracks such as From This Moment On and the Dreamgirls song And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going, together with the title track, originally by Jennifer Rush.

“This really is the icing on the cake to an incredible few months,” said Sam.

“I’ve worked hard to get where I am and I’m so happy that everyone is liking what I’m doing. It really is a dream come true!”

Bailey knocked George Michael’s Symphonic off the top spot.
