Favourite Sam Bailey was crowned the winner of this year's X Factor on Sunday night, after receiving more than 1,000,000 votes from the public.
The 36-year-old, originally from Bexley Village, finished in the top two every week during the past three months of the ITV1 talent show.
A former prison officer, it was revealed this weekend that she will now support Beyonce on her upcoming European tour in February - and her debut single, Skyscraper, was released yesterday (Wednesday).
The final, stretched over Saturday and Sunday, saw Sam sing I Am Telling You, from the musical Dreamgirls, alongside judge Nicole Scherzinger - while final rivals Nicholas McDonald and Luke Friend sang with Shane Filan and Ellie Goulding respectively.
It is thought Sam cost UK bookmakers more than £1million, according to Coral, who described her as the “most backed contestant in they history of the show”.
After her name was announced by host Dermot O’Leary, she said: “I don’t know what to say.
“I just want to say that I love that boy to pieces, Nicky McDonald. He’s got the most amazing voice. I love him to death.”
She added: “Thank you so much everybody. I really am appreciative.”
