Bexley school strike closure information released

Bexley Council has released a comprehensive list of schools which will be closed due to tomorrow’s teacher strike.
Those completely closed include Upland Primary School in Bexleyheath, Belmont Primary School in Erith and Royal Park Primary School in Sidcup.
Other schools will be partially closed depending on how many teachers have said they are going to join the picket lines - although they are not obliged to let their schools know.
The walkout has been organised by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National Association of Schoolmasters’ Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) in a dispute with the government over pay, pensions and working conditions.
The strike is over government plans which will see teachers unable to claim their pensions until they are 68, performance-related pay and workloads.
Bexleyheath Academy sent letters to parents last week informing parents of its intention to close.
