More than 70 slimmers in Bexley covered the distance from London to Paris by walking 5km around Danson Park in Bexleyheath.

Members of various Slimming World clubs across the borough got involved to raise money for charity while getting fit at the same time.

The walkers decided to get into the Olympic spirit on August 5, inspired by stars from across the world who had descended on London for the Games.

Bexleyheath Slimming World consultant Susannah Luff said: “We were so excited to take part in this challenge while all the sporting heroes from across the globe were gathered in London.

“We’re working together to make a healthier future for ourselves and others in Bexley. That we get to do it while raising money for charity at the same time is a real privilege.”
