Stroke survivors and their carers in Bexley could benefit from a near £3,500 grant in the new year.

The Stroke Association made £3,463 available in 2013 in the form of ‘Life After Stroke Grants’.

More money is now available and applications are being welcomed now by the charity.

Sandra Field, head of operations for the south-east coast, said: “A stroke happens in an instant, yet for many people, its effects are devastating and last a lifetime.”

A panel will allocate grants to people meeting the eligibility criteria.
