A sporty teenager is aiming to raise £3,000 for a charity expedition by completing every track and field Olympic event in six hours.

Bexley Grammar student Niki Faulkner, 16, from Sidcup, will carry out 18 events on Sunday October 23, outside Erith leisure centre.

Money raised will go towards a “once in a lifetime” trip to India during which the teenager, who runs for Bexley Athletics Club, will spend 14 days trekking to the Himalayas.

During the expedition, which is organised by World Challenge organisation, he will carry out community work in the local district which could include building walls, helping out in schools and painting murals.

Niki will be starting his Olympic day at 7.30am at the track in Stonewood Road, Erith, residents are invited to show their support.
