Valentina Baranov, eight, was one of a team of volunteers, both young and old, who joined forces with water charity Thames21 to help clear litter and weeds from the River Shuttle, in Bexley, last week.

Those spending the sunny day knee high in the water were provided with equipment to help clean-up the area and ensure wildlife flourishes.
