Two people have been arrested after two pedestrians were seriously injured in a collision with a car in Bexleyheath on Sunday (15) morning.

The car, a silver Chrysler Voyager, failed to stop at the scene of the crash in Barnehurst Road, Bexleyheath at approximately 1.50am.

The 50-year-old male pedestrian remains in a critical condition and the 38-year-old old woman is described by police as in a serious but stable condition.

At 6.25am yesterday, a 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested in Bexleyheath. Both were taken to a south London police station where they remain in custody.

The Chrysler was recovered in Northend Road, Erith.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the silver Chrysler Voyager on Sunday morning to call the Collision Investigation Unit at Catford on (0208) 285 1574.
